I ran across this error while trying to surf around the internet on my Mac today in Google Chrome. The Chrome error message was RESULT_CODE_INVALID_CMDLINE_URL. I also noticed that my Time Machine backups were failing. This lead me on a chase to figure out why this was happening, seemingly random.
Google Chrome – Always Show Entire URL
Since the launch of Chrome 78, Google thought it was a good idea to hide the full URL in the Omnibar (address bar). I find this very annoying as I like to see the exact URL I am going to. Well today, I will show you how to re-enable this in Chrome version 83.
How to Set Up a Plex Media Server
Plex Media Server is a user-friendly way to store all your movies, shows, and other media in one place–and make it accessible from any device, whether you’re at home or on-the-go. If you’re looking for a no-headache way to watch your movies anywhere, this is it.
Pi-Hole on Google Cloud
I recently found this very cool project called PiVPN that allows you to set up VPN software called OpenVPN that enables you to connect your laptops, routers and mobile devices through the VPN tunnel to be protected by a Pi-Hole instance running in the cloud. Luckily, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) has a Free-Tier that allows you to do just that for the low-low price of FREE!
I found this guide on GitHub with a step-by-step guide on how to set up Pi-Hole, configure PiVPN and protect your devices using a free GCP instance. Imagine having full-time ad blocking capability on your mobile device over LTE. Now that’s awesome!
